ABSTRACT:
A 10 page paper examining the changes of attitude toward both domestic and international business alliances. In the early days of the concept of strategic alliances – particularly in those involving a foreign company – the primary goals were to defray fixed costs while expanding markets (Ohmae, 1989). Today that role has shifted more to generating revenues (Segil, 2004). The purpose here is to review Ohmae's (1989) article for concepts that have persisted in today's business environment.
